Burbage Primary School joined Excalibur Academies Trust in April 2013 and is proud to be part of the Marlborough hub. All Burbage pupils have the opportunity to benefit from Excalibur’s commitment to all through education by smoothly transitioning to St John’s Marlborough. Working collaboratively across the Trust schools support each other which means they are able to offer children enhanced learning experiences and opportunities. In addition to providing expertise in finance, human resource management and professional development Excalibur’s central team is keenly focused on school improvement ensuring that every child at Burbage reaches their full potential.
Founded in 2012, Excalibur Academies Trust has grown from two schools in Marlborough, Wiltshire, to 20 schools in five local authorities stretching from Bristol to Reading along the M4 corridor, providing high quality education to 10,000 children from age 2 to age 18. Excalibur’s vision is to provide an excellent education empowering individuals to thrive and grow within a caring, aspirational and outward looking culture. Excalibur believes in investing in its staff to ensure talented, dedicated people who are committed to changing children’s lives for the better are attracted to join the Trust. With a strong track record of raising the achievement of disadvantaged pupils across the trust, it is Excalibur’s mission to promote social mobility and personal fulfilment through the transformative power of education. Excalibur’s strategy is based on a hub model building the capacity to provide strong support and opportunities for all schools in the Trust.
